This past Sunday September 11, 2016, marked the 21st anniversary of the Barrie 2 Baycrest (B2B) Ride!
In 1995, Stan and Susan Feldman met Larry Saltsman and Michelle Lavine while on a bike trip through the French countryside. Once the group arrived home to Canada, they decided to ride together again. This time to raise funds for the Baycrest Foundation. Given that, in the inaugural year, the group rode 250 km from Bala to Toronto and raised $5,000. Moreover, in 1996, with the support of the fifth founding member Jonathan Feldman, they raised $45,000. Fast forward 20 years and the annual B2B Ride has finally raised over $11 million for brain health research and senior’s fitness programming at Baycrest.
Baycrest is a global leader in developing and providing innovations in aging and brain health. We at Mulmer Services are truly honoured to be a continued partner of Baycrest and the B2B Ride.
Our connection to the Ride is an important one. We are incredibly thankful for the opportunity to act as Transportation Sponsor year after year. In fact, MSL facilitates the transportation of over 120 cyclists and their bicycles to the starting line at Heritage Park in Barrie. When the ride begins, our vehicles diligently follow the pack to ensure all riders safely cross the finish line at Baycrest. Our participation in the B2B Ride is a source of great pride for the MSL team.
Meanwhile, a special thank you to the following MSL drivers who provided outstanding service this past Saturday September 10th and 11th in preparation for the Ride. They are Gino, Jonathan, Jackie, Dan, Tracy, and C.P.
